Recycle Your Electronics! Goods for the Planet is a participating member of e-cycle Washington so you can recycle your TV, computer monitor, laptop, and CPU (harddrive tower) for FREE! EVERYONE qualifies for the free recycling EXCEPT for-profit businesses with more than 50 employees. All manufacturers who sell their products in the State of Washington pay into a state fund that finances the cost of recycling these items. If you do not qualify for free recycling, give us a call for pricing.
Goods for the Planet is a drop off site for these, and other, electronic devices. You can drop them off any time that we're open. We also accept fluorescent lightbulbs, thermometers (and other items that contain mercury), other lightbulbs, printers, keyboards, cell phones, home phones, chargers, cables, disks, batteries, stereos, small appliances made from plastic, glass, metals or wiring (Basically, any items if they do not contain fuels or fluids) such as hair dryers, shavers, blenders, mixers, toasters, etc., and all that technotrash. (sorry, no microwave ovens). There is a fee to process many of your recycleable materials. That fee keeps these products out of the landfill, salvages what can be used and safely recycles the unusable materials to make new products. It is all done in Washington State and inspected by the King County Take-it-Back Network and e-cycle Washington.
Please see our Recycling page for any fees involved in recycling these items, and a link to the King County "What Do I Do With" website for information on where to take items we cannot accept.
You can also get your ink cartridges refilled, for a fee, reducing plastic in the landfill and saving you money!
Thanks for recycling!
